I actually finished three books this week. The first was Something Blue by Emily Giffin. I listened to this book and I loved it! It was a light read and very funny. I can't wait to read the other books in the series! I also finished Jesus Freaks this week. This was a re-read for me. I first read it in high school and I'm glad that I re-read it now. It is a collection of short stories about people who have given up their lives for Jesus. It was very encouraging and challenging. It made me grateful that I live in America where I can be a Christian and not worry about getting beaten or killed. The last book I read this week was Viva Vermont. I borrowed this book from Brittany. It was a young adult book, but I really didn't like it. It was so cliche. I read it in one day, it was that easy.
I'm so excited to be reading all of this books and happy that I'm liking most of them. I can't wait to tell you about more books that I read!

Read 50 Books in 1 Year and Pay Off Credit Cards
0 comments
Last night I finished this book. It was so good. I think it might be my favorite of the year (though I've read a lot of really good books this year). I loved the way the author brought the three main characters together, and she wrote so beautifully. It was nice reading the book. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading other books by her.
Also, last week I received money from my work to pay for my grad school classes this semester. Brad and I decided to use the money to pay off a credit card. So, we used part of the money to pay off a credit card and the rest we put into our account to help pay other bills. We paid off Brad's credit card. It was originally our "honeymoon" credit card, but we paid that off pretty quickly. Then, it became Brad's college credit card to pay for books, grad fees, tests, etc. I'm so glad that we were able to pay it off! Now, we can put the money that used to go to that credit card to something else. And it feels good to know that we are now down to only two credit cards!

Send a card to a family member or friend
0 comments
Today I wrote my first card for my "send a card a month to a family member or friend." I chose to send a card to my friend Kathy.
Kathy and I have been friends since our sophomore year at, what was then called, Reformed Bible College. Kathy earned a scholarship to go to RBC for free just a few days before school started and she decided on move-in day that she was going to accept the scholarship. She moved on to the floor that I was the RA of and through the year we became good friends. Our junior year (which turned out to be my last year there) we shared a room in our apartment.
Even though Kathy and I live in two different states we have still managed to be good friends. We e-mail each other fairly regularly and see each other ever six weeks or so. Twice a year we have a weekend together with two of our other college friends. I still consider Kathy one of my best friends because I know that I can always count on her to be there when I need her the most.
Kathy is going to have her first baby any day. I know that having a child will change our friendship, but I am confident that we will always be friends. I think that God made us friends and we will continue to be friends even as our families grow and we get older because we will always make time for each other.

101 Things in 1001 Days
2 commentsThrough my online boards I came across this group of people who were doing 101 things in 1001 days. Bascially, you're supposed to make up a list of 101 things that you would like to do in the next 1001 days. The only rules are that you have to be specific with your goals and they have to be achievable in the next 1001 days. Since I love setting new goals (and making "to do" lists) I thought this sounded awesome! My 1001 days start tomorrow, May 15th. Check out my list on the side to see what I will be working on in the next 1001 days.
